Park creation
The creation of the Parc des Sommets is a true story of love and passion for nature. This conservation and recreation park was established after several years of awareness raising, and discussions as well as through a collective commitment for the protection of our natural environments.
Thanks to the participation of Ville de Bromont, the Nature Conservancy Canada Organization, a citizens’ fund-raising campaign, as well as the collaboration of the Québec government, the sum of 8.25 million dollars was gathered, allowing the purchase of land belonging to Bromont, montagne d’expériences, and putting an end to a real estate development project.
A victory for everyone
Since March 30, 2018, the deed of purchase formalizing the sale of the land to the Ville de Bromont was signed. With a territory covering 150 hectares, the park now offers 140 km of natural trails spread across 5 networks, for everyone to enjoy.
Our mission: Protect, play and preserve
The preservation of Bromont’s natural environment and the protection of its biodiversity are essential to ensure a better quality of life for present and future generations. On February 26, 2021, Ville de Bromont officially mandated the non-profit organization Les Amis des Sentiers de Bromont to manage the Parc des Sommets for a period of 5 years. The group therefore sees to the maintenance and development of trails within this natural environment so that hikers, runners, cyclists, skiers and horseback riders can practise their favourite summer and winter sports. All this, while respecting their primary objective to preserve nature. The Amis des Sentiers will also be in charge of the new visitor’s pavilion which will be inaugurated by the end of 2021.
We’re taking on quite a challenge these upcoming years, but it will certainly be rewarding.

On February 22, 2024, Parc des Sommets obtained its “Excellence” eco-responsible certification in collaboration with the Green Pages / Pages Vertes
Why the Green Pages / Pages Vertes ?
First of all, the Green Pages are a directory of eco-responsible businesses in Quebec. It is also the largest in Canada. Their main mission is to gather businesses that demonstrate that they are responsible towards our planet in a single directory, as well as facilitating sustainable consumption and help the population towards an ecological transition.
The park has adopted several policies, which will be periodically reviewed. These policies aim to demonstrate our responsibility towards the environment and local communities, such as encouraging the acquisition of goods that meet sustainable development criteria.
