Bromont, A Winter Cycling Pioneer

With the great interest and a growing demand for winter cycling, the Parc des Sommets works hard to maintain more than twenty trails on the Village, Mount Oak and Mountain area, to meet expectations of “fat bikers”. Volunteer teams work meticulously to groom the trails in order to offer winter cycling enthusiasts a quality experience.

What an exciting way to enjoy our winter landscapes and to keep your cycling legs in great shape all year long!

The trails designed for these bikes with their oversized tires are shared with other winter sports, it’s important to always respect signs, for everyone’s safety. It’s also very important during the cold season to prepare your itinerary in advance by consulting the trail maps.

The Mount Oak area offers over 8 km of fatbike trails for intermediate level bikers. We guarantee you’ll have a great time and for sure, plenty of laughs. Mount Bernard, accessible by taking the Mountain Area, will certainly make you want to go higher and further with its magnificent views of Mount Gale Valley and the Bromont Olympic Equestrian Park, a well-deserved reward after all your efforts.

The trails are well marked but it’s still a good idea to download the free “ONDAGO” locator applications on your smart phone.

Access to the hiking and equestrian trails is free for Bromont residents (proof of residence required via Bciti). However, Bromont residents have to buy their pass on Bciti if they are doing mountain bike. The fee is donated to the organization Les Amis des Sentiers who are the only ones to ensure the sustainability of the trails in Bromont by seeing to their protection, maintenance and development.

The circuits might vary according to snow conditions and trail grooming operations.

Cross-country skiing enthusiasts are invited to come and experience the beauty of winter on our magnificent groomed trails!

The team at Les Amis des Sentiers gets up very early to provide Bromont’s cross-country skiers with superbly groomed trails as soon as snow conditions permit.

The Bromont olympic equestrian Park offers an 8 km loop for cross-country skiing amateurs in both classic and skating styles with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Two parking lots are available, on Chemin de Gaspé near the intersection with Chemin du Lac Gale and on Chemin des Carrières.

The 15 km long C1 hiking belt around the mountain is designed for classic cross-country skiing. This intermediate level trail is a multi-use route and we ask users not to walk or ride in the tracks in order to keep the trail in good condition for skiers.

The Villageois Network is another option for classic style cross-country skiers. This is an easy level trail and links the Adamsville sector, the Parc Scientifique and the Bromont arena by way of Vieux-Bromont. The entire 17-kilometre network is mechanically groomed.

The trails are well marked but it’s a good idea to download the free “ONDAGO” locator applications on your smart phone.

Access to the hiking and equestrian trails is free for Bromont residents (proof of residence required via Bciti). Snowshoeing in an enchanting environment

Located in the Parc des Sommets de Bromont, the Lake Gale network sector offers 17 km of ungroomed trails that will please all snowshoeing enthusiasts. Perfect for beginners and intermediate hikers. The viewpoint at the top of Mount Gale is particularly popular, with Lake Gale below and the Appalachian Mountains in the distance to the south.

The Mountain Network is also a fine option with its three summits (Bernard, Spruce and Horizon) accessible in winter.

You can rent your equipment at the Town of Bromont and at Bromont, montagne d’experiences (BME).

The circuits may vary according to snow conditions. Please refer to the hiking categorie for our 4 seasons ininerary suggestions.

Plan your outing well; Bring some food and a hot beverage, you don’t want to be caught off guard by the length of the outing.

Saddle up, and ride off into an exceptional natural environment.

The Parc des Sommets offers equestrian touring adepts nearly a dozen trails on the Mount Oak Network and the C1 trail belt, all wide enough to venture out on horseback without any worries.

On the Mountain Network, we’ve built an equestrian rest area on the upper part of the Hollywood Trail. Here you can take a short break, and enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Sutton and the surrounding region.

Because cohabitation is a priority in the Park, it should be noted that these trails are multi-use and are therefore used by hikers, runners and mountain bikers as well. It’s important to respect the signs and to use only those trails that have been developed for horseback riding.

Please don’t forget to pick up anything your horse might leave behind.
